How sweet it is to be a Minnesotan

Yes, I feel blessed. A beautiful wife, two healthy kids, a great job and Minnesota sports are on fire. Yessir, life is good.

Twinkie Power baby. You gotta love the Metrodome. Booyah!

How sick was #4 on Monday?!? Sure, put 8 in the box and try to stop AP AD, but Favre will make you pay. Gotta love how bad the Packers O line is. Love it, love it, love it.

So, it would've been nice if Goldy could've beaten ol Bucky, but hey.....I'm loving this, so let the good times roll.

One week and going strong

It has been a wild week adjusting to life with a new addition. As a friend at work said,"One kid is a hobby, two is a family and anything more is an adventure". So, I guess we are a family now. Here's a ton of photos. It appears I loaded everything in reverse order. Oh, well. Use your imagination.

Little Dean has been doing a good job eating and sleeping. Here's a little glamour shot of the guy. Duncan has been doing pretty well with the little guy. I think Eden did the hard work the first time, so he's adjusted to having these little people hang around. He is a good guy. Lucky just keeps her space and doesn't interact too much. It's hard seeing her grow old. (13+ years).

Happy father of two little rascals.

Need I say anything.

Family shot.

Mom and Dad along with Parker and Mackenzie came up to visit.

As soon as we got home from the hospital, we set the little guy down and Duncan checked out the new addition. Went well.

We ended up in the same hospital and actually the exact same room as we were with Eden. #303. I can't say enough about Watertown Regional Hospital. A class act. I would love to have all my kids there. Phenomenal nursing staff, great doctors for Julie and our favorite pediatrician for the kids. I really feel grateful for it and would recommend it to anyone.
With all the Obamadrama, I'm thrilled to currently have great healthcare coverage at a reasonable price. You never know what the future holds, but as of today it has been just great for us. It is one of those things that I never really thought about growing up or even when I accepted my first job, but means so much to me now. So, hopefully our president and congress doesn't mess that up.

The little guy in his new chair ready to head home. Our visit flew by at the hospital, last time it felt a lot longer. We were ready to go home.

I love it when you call me Big papa.

Mom made this Viking hat for Dean. I like it but we may have to wait for next winter to bust it out for him.

Of course with having a 2nd child, you worry about your first and how he/she will handle it. So, we were pins and needles on Eden's first visit to the hospital. She did great. Said baby and baby over again, and checked the little guy out.
She's doing ok now. It is a big adjustment for her, and hopefully we are doing a good job. And if we aren't, hopefully she'll forget.

The Rentmeester family came down and visited us at the hospital which was very nice. Jean ended up spending the last week at home with us, which was a huge help. Julie and I were very grateful for her help. It made a big difference helping us settle in.

Julie has to be the most amazing mother. She did a phenomenal job giving birth. She felt contractions at 4:30am. We went to the hospital at 6:30am and she gave birth 3 hours later. I'm super impressed and proud of her.

The first photo with open eyes.

The classic first photo shot...we were so glad this guy finally decided to join the party. Going over the due date was one of the more stressful things we've gone through. I'm so glad he naturally decided to come. Thanks little Dewster.

Baby Wentworth Willingham Wilson

Wouldn't that be a fun name for a kid? "Hey 3Dub your lunch is ready" Well, we decided to pass on that and named the new addition to the family Dean Evan Wilson. (Dean is Julie's dad name and Evan after my brother).

He finally joined our family yesterday morning at 9:37am, weighed 7lbs 8oz and measured 20 inches. He is a very healthy little guy and we are thrilled to have him.

Julie did great and is doing very well. I'm just happy as can be. I'll post more photos an commentary later, I just wanted to make sure the 3.12 faithful readers of my blog got the info right away.

Baby #2 Update

Thanks to everyone for the emails, phone calls, texts about #2 joining the familia. He seems to really enjoy his current home, so it will probably be another week or so before his officially with us. We'll be sure to update when he decides to get here (my guess is he will not want to miss out on booing the Packers when they lose to the Vikings on the 5th)

So, rather than posting new infant photos, why not post a bunch of random photos and stories from the past month.

Off we go...

Eden and I went to Menards to pick up some odds and ends. The sunset looked spectacular that evening and Eden loves getting her picture taken, so why not put the two together.

Evan went through the Temple for the first time so we cruised down to Chicago to participate with him. Besides not being able to find the Glenview train station which is a story in itself, it was a great evening and couldn't be happier for Evan and my parents.
Being a little on the bored side this past weekend, we decided we needed to get out and about. We called up John and Lauren (his girlfriend) to go and hang out. I suggested Chucky Cheese because Eden would have a great time and so would her father.

Well, here's to good intentions. This chucky cheese was BANANAS. Seriously, we pulled up and couldn't find a parking spot (first bad sign). A bunch of teenagers walked in with us (second bad sign). There was a police officer with a gun monitoring the entry way (third bad sign, I'd like to add here that the Chucky Cheese was in one of the wealthiest suburbs of Milwaukee). Lastly, every table was packed full, kids/teens were running, screaming everywhere (4th bad sign).

So, what did we decide to do. Stay of course, what else would you do.

Well, we passed on eating there but decided to find a couple rides Eden could do, and some random one's we could enjoy (FYI..they only had mini-skeeball which was super lame).

The photo below is of horse race game that Eden enjoyed. The horse moved side to side and jumped up and down. This funny kid decided to join her (the more the merrier). He was pretty nice guy. Most of the other rides we did with Eden she was terrified of, but we did find a sweet spot on the carousel that she did 7-8 rides in a row.

Overall, it was pretty wild and probably won't go back any time soon. Well, until Eden is a little older and can throw down with these other kids.

Afterwards, we all went out to a very enjoyable dinner. We really like those two and it was a nice to go out.

Julie and I were invited to a Badger game by an agency I work with in Madison. They are great people to work with and enjoyable hosts. We had a tailgate before hand then went and watched Bucky take on Fresno State. We've always loved going to these games, and it was another perfect day for football.

Before anyone freaks out in the comments section....I only cheer for the Badgers during non-conference games (hence this one). Otherwise, I would be sporting my maroon and gold.

One funny story...this pretty white trashy dude (mullet, tank top, ect..) walks by and has a tattoo on his leg. I go, "Julie, that guy has a rat tattooed on his leg". Julie gives me a "I can't believe you are this dumb look" and says "It's a Badger, Blair". I'm proud I got that wrong.

In the sport filled month, Lauren (referenced earlier in the blog) was getting honored at the Brewers game. So, we went down to support and watch the Brew crew. We had a great time. It's hard to beat summer baseball games (although this one was a little cooler, hence the sweatshirt).

Hey babe...

I hate California

I had to go to LA for work and sadly it landed on my birthday. But don't worry, it was still a great birthday because a birthday is only as good as you make it, as someone wise frequently says...

Anyways, back to my hatred of California.

I hate the beach that has perfect sand and it doesn't even matter if it sunny, cloudy or in between, that there is always a volleyball game going on or someone surfing. I hate all the free enjoyable options of being on the ocean.
I hate the open plazas that have outdoor dining where you can eat and relax outside with friends and talk the day away.

I hate the strand where you can ride a beach cruiser, walk or run for miles.

I hate the feeling of warm sand on my feet. I also hate the therapeutic sound of waves crashing and how you can stare at the ocean for hours.

I hate that a lot of my family, roommates from college and best friends from my mission live in California. I hate that Elder Everett Ghent and his amazing family always take me in and are the best hosts every time I'm in LA.
I hate that they bought me a soul food birthday dinner of waffles and chicken in the hood of long beach.
I hate that California has Pinkberry. The most delicious snack on earth. I had 3.

I hate that California has In-n-Out Burger...home of the 4x4. Sidenote..this was devastating. Yes, Five guys burgers are better. You have no idea how much it hurts to write that.

I hate that in California you get hooked up with a red Mustang for the weekend in perfect sunny weather.

Yes, I hate California. I can't wait to go back.

Outdoor Adventure

Julie and I decided to have a weekend of rest and relaxation and went camping. Jean & Dean kindly offered to watch mutt & jeff and babysat Eden. We really enjoyed just spending some time with each other...reading by the beach, swimming, sleeping in and a little hiking. Great times.

Campsite and the mini.
We hiked up to this tower that had a great view...you could see for miles. It was built super solid, but still scared the daylights out of us while climbing up (it was a good 150-200ft up). Something about having kids that completely kills the fear factor gene.

Summer Weddings

Every summer we have a couple weddings. Most of them this year have been kid friendly, so we have brought little E along. Eden has really taken to dancing lately, so we had some daddy/daughter dancing. That girl can really make your heart melt out there.

Cute little kiddo.

Droppin it like it's hot.
